MUBS signs MoU with AMURT

The Equality & Sustainability (E&S) Center at the Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AMURT (Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team) on December 13, 2021. The objective of the MoU is to establish a relationship of academic cooperation covering exchanges of lecturers, joint projects, and collaborative events in the field of gender equality and women empowerment.

The E&S center at MUBS was established within the framework of the Free Erasmus+ project   (https://freeproject.eu/) coordinated by Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia – UNED (Spain). The objectives of the Free Erasmus+ project include: Empowering female academics and professionals through series of training workshops, improving management and operation of HE through introduction of equality and sustainability centers and services, and the development of research and innovation through network of research in gender Issues.

Since its inception in 1965 its original objective was to help meet the needs of the affected population after disasters. Over the years AMURT has established teams in thirty-four countries, to create a network that can meet disaster and development needs almost anywhere in the world. In 1985 AMURT broadened its goals to include long-term development. One of its main principles is to show respect for women and ensure their integration and active participation in the development process, so that a harmonious growth of the family, community, and society as a whole can be achieved.
